3 of the fish died last night

Update: the fourth one has died too.

3 of our goldfish died last night. Don’t know how. We’re all shocked. We have been taking the utmost care of them.

Last night, while we were preparing to go to sleep, Kshitij, Ankit and I went over to the fish tank. I was just going to  put in a few grains of fish food when Kshitij yelled. One of the fish were floating on the surface. We checked and then double checked. She was dead. We took her out and placed her in a jug of water and covered it. We thought we’ll tell mom, dad and nani ma in the morning. But when mom and dad woke up, they saw two other fish also dead. We’re guessing they all must be ill from before we got them, coz its been just five days since we got them and they were getting good care.

Only one of them is alive now. We’re not sure if she’ll survive too.

I’ve been feeling really bad since last night. It’s weird. It’s been just five days since I knew them. They are just fish. Yet, when I saw one of them dead, I had tears in my eyes. I know I’m weird. But that’s me. I get attached and emotional.

It’s ironic that this happened the same day I posted about them here.
