Kids eat the most crazily named food!
Reading Crafty’s post Born to be fed gave me a sense of assurance, that I was not alone. (No, not the midnight hogging part (although I do that now sometimes
) , the part where she uses a crazy name for a food item). And so I decided to come out of my shell. I decided to reveal to the world that Gulab Jamuns were(sometimes still are) Lapchakumaanu to me. That’s right. Lapchakumaanu. Don’t ask me why. I am still wondering…
Anyway, Crafty made me remember it and I was so excited that I wrote “I want a Lapchakumaanu” everywhere. Facebook, twitter, gtalk etc. and the reactions I got were howlarious!!
Just a few minutes ago, I chatted with my friend Animesh. What followed was, that me and Crafty are in splits right now (yes I shared it with her over gtalk)
*pasting the chat while gripping a tummy aching with laughter*
Animesh: what is that u want??? shit!! am not able to even say it properly
me: hahaha!
A: is it a comic character
me: nope
guess again
A: or some south indian or japanes manga character??
me: another try
A: yaar.. usually animax par character ke naam aise hi rehte hain. i cant think of anything else
me: shall i tell now?
A: whts it.. now only u can tell
me: I used to call a Gulab Jamun by this name, when i was a kiddo
A: ha!ha!ha!ha!… lolllzzzzzz

me: share share!
A: so i used to say alooji
bhindiji
me: omg!!!!!!!!
hahaha!
A: everything used to end with ji
and best part not limited to food..
in bengali.. insect is called “poka”

me: can i name u?
A: no probs…
me: hehehe

A: i dont do tht now..
and later on i realized the inspiration and source was i used to call my nana and nani.. as nanaji and naniji..
so i generalized the respect for everything
me: lol
every kid calls nana nani as ji
but not food!
A: he!he!he!
but still u score over me..
me: no u do!!!
A: saying “ji” is definitely easier than wht ever u called a gulab jamun

btw, I m now thinking of getting Lapchakumaanu patented
It IS INDEED awesome!!
Hey… no way.. saying a “ji” still sounds relevant and some basis to it.. but what on earth could make one call a “gulab jamun” a “Lapchakumaanu”… even for typing this i had to copy paste from ur post… Lollzzz!!!
LOL!! and Google said it all. 0 results!
but its cute isn’t it? So lets settle for you as crazier kid and me as cuter kid
Your wife must be happy (Wifeji) for finding a lucky husband like you
hahaha! and he’ll respect her food!
Ha!ha!ha!
“Wifeji” Lollzzzz…. so many ‘ji’ is now reminding me of Anil Kapoors.. “eji oji loji sunoji….. one two ka 4….” Lollzz..!!!!
this is getting funnier by the minute!
makes sense to respect the food we eat… it gives us our life.. and it tastes delicious… but it doesn’t make sense to give a wierd name to a tasty sweet (damn i miss gulab jamun!)
respect to food… You say it like a yogi or something… ROFL
and the name is not weird!! At least its cute!
)
(ok aaluji is cute too
uh oh laughter fits coming again
hahahaha……..
OMG….this was good laugh for today…
One of the cutest & most difficult word to spell & pronounce, still lapchakumaanu makes me laugh like crazy, my colleagues are asking what syndrome i got.
hahaha! and welcome to my blog metalsaint
He he he he ..Great…well i addressed Gulab Jamuns as GunaamJamuns, but ..this was awesome…Lpachak…watever you call it..LOL
Gunaamjamun so cute!! and hahaha its not Lpachak!
Very funny and a good sense of humour in your words
Thanks Rajkumar
There you see… u scoring over me…
OK so I m winning ! YAY!!!
Thts what it was all about.. i said u were the funnier one…
yaar pehle to comment with one name! kabhi Animesh likhta hai kabhi juzmoni! Identity crisis??
and this shows you ARE crazy!!
I indeed am the funnier and cuter one
You are just one plain crazy kid
THAT’S what it was about!!
you very well know the reason behind identity crisis….
A small correction.. I wasn’t a crazy kid.. that happens to be a recent development..
and “aalooji” definitely sounds cute… lolzzz….
he he, that is indeed crazy… I think Lachapaka… whatever scores over anything!
I remember, we used to use crazy names as well – Magar mach was “gamarcham”… and a few other stuff but nothing beats you!
hahaha!! Lachapaka!! It is LAPCHAKUMAANU!!
and gamarcham is soooo funny n cute!! hehe….
“gamarcham”… Lollzzzz… the poor old croc’….
I cudnt pronounce what crafty said over there and i cant pronounce what you said here… and no I am no going to try either.. !! lol…
nuts every one is going nuts …… !!!!!!!!
haha poor Hitchu!

Try speaking the words. Its so much fun!
My cousin said he cant stop speaking Lapchakumaanu aloud ever since he read this!
A GOOD LONG BLOG NEHAJI.
not that long! most of it is the hilarious chat
Really great …
next time while eating gulab jamun i definately remember this LAPCHAKUMAANU Ji saga
hehehe……
Add Lapchakumaanu ji to the stuff that is udhaar on me
First I thought that the sounds of the word LAPCHAKUMAANU can be shuffled across a bit to KULAPCHAMAANU..Chuck that AA and put the U in between. I think you have KULAPCHAMUN. For all I know, thats how Tamils write it.
And yes, Animesh was just showing his respect to the vegetables.
OMG!!! Thank you for that!!!!
Now I at least have some idea abt why I coined such a name!
LOL!! Neha I cant even pronounce this! I atleast tried with Crafty’s word but this is beyond me!
too hilarious!:D
btw I also used to say JI for everything:D
wrote about it long back in a post
haha… I’m gonna look for that post of urs
Lacha-whaat??? Thats more like a tongue twister !!! and I loved that chat session —
me: i invented that word!!
A: yaa… i am sure of tht
even google says 0 results
ROFL !!!!
Btw, is that your friends real name — Animesh ???? No offience, but its like a combination of Animal and Ramesh (or any name that ends with -sh)
(I hope your sportive buddy takes the above statement of mine sportively, or else please dont even tell that you know me ! )
on second thoughts, I should have said Animation and Ramesh ! Duh !!! Im so dumb !!!!
haha yeah that chat was fun. He would have googled it when I asked him to guess what it was
Even Google couldnt help
And what is vimmuuu btw? Sounds like a cow just mooed after Vim bar.
LOL, tit for tat, huh ??? Well, Vimmuuu has a meaning. its V-i-double m-triple u ! Double you give me (m), triple I give you (u) !!!!
Bizarre, isnt it? I didnt keep it; my friends did !!!
hey that was good!! LOL
neha ji that was a good post… animesh ji has been extremely respectful towards one and all… kudos to him for that… in this world where people hardly respect each other, I find the animesh jis extremely inspiring!
btw LAPCHAKUMAANU <– what is the meaning of this word?
Respectful haha yeah
And Lapchakumaanu is a word I coined! Didnt u read the post???
@vimmuuu
Dude, Animesh (ji) is not a combination of names. it is just Animesh (ji). And do add the suffix ‘ji’ after his name. you should respect him yaar.
yeah respect him. After all, he’s the one who gave the idea for this post
heehee
ha ha ha…
thats really funny
hehe thanks kanagu
Ha..ha..ha.. you came up with such a difficult word for Gulab jamun. My daughter simply says ‘jambu’.
I’m still trying to figure that out!!
btw its not difficult.Try saying it. Its addictive
and jambu is cute!!! hugs to her!
You must be one crazy kid! Usually kids try to use simplified names but why in the name of god will someone use such a complex name for GulabJamun!!
Now I remember one stupidity of mine. I used to call Rajma – Rajmummy!
Rajmummy!!! hahaha…..so cute!!
You definately score over him…that word seems like a vomit out of the mouth
..I guess that ‘ji’ is very common in our society kids tend to suffix their elder’s with ‘ji’ and at that age almost everything seems elder to them ,even aloo gobbi
vomit out of the mouth?? How could u say that about my cute word
… LOL
this Lapchakumaanu is a real tongue twister.. dint u find it easier to just say gulab jamun??lol
please tell ur friend, he is the most kind person i ever met. calling sabzis ji? wat a respectful way to address them.. i only wish the sabzis cud appreciate his thoughfulnes!
hehe… I sure will tell him
and welcome to my blog Mandira
No body scores over any body!!!
You all are class apart!!!
Aww Smita kya baat hai!!
hugs!!
Thank you for this post… had some great laughs!!

That word is indeed a real tongue twister, though I’ll concede its cute!
Being a bengali, the cockroach term made me convulse with heavy, unadulterated laughter!! You must pass on my regards to Animesh!
I’d say we all have uniquely hilarious incidents from our childhood.. wonder what crazy laughter our grown ups derive now, when they think back on the frivolity of those days.. and compare it with a present day image of us!
Oh so you’re a bengali! nice nice
Sure will pass on your message to him
haha…yeah thats true that parents must be amused at what stuff we used to say and do! But for them we are kids forever!
LoL! I use to have werid names for food too.
BUt I don’t have a clue how to say yours.
Man is this word so difficult? Everyone is saying the same!
animesh wins hands down…wat a respectful child! his parents wud be proud of him!
