I love you my little brother
I know for a fact that no one has got a better birthday gift than I did. On my 3rd birthday, God sent me a little brother. Yes, we share our birthday
Ever since then, my life revolved around him. I was the one who named him. Mom says that I was the only one in the family who understood his gibberish.
We are very similar in many ways. Yet we have our individuality. We are like twins, who have a 3 year difference
It was great growing up with him, sharing everything from our toys to our dreams. There are so many memories together. We’re each others’ best friends.
I remember his first day at school. I was supposed to take care of him. At the end of school day, I lost him. I kept looking for him yet he was nowhere to be found!!!! Mom came to pick us up and I told her I’d lost him. We searched for him frantically… And there he was. Sitting in our school bus. Waving at us. He remembered the bus number and had gone ahead and boarded it himself!!!! Such a responsible lil’ kid he was
When he was about 6 years old, I saw him meet an accident in front of my eyes. It was terrible, and I was helpless. I yelled at the biker, who had hit him, with all my might. Then they took him to a hospital. I went back home, told mom and I fainted. Mom was busy with packing (we were shifting to another town). She left everything and went to find him. We didn’t even know which hospital he was in. Finally she found him. All covered in tubes. When dad came to see him, the lil’ guy tells my dad, “Papa aap jao. You must be busy in packing. I’m fine”. Dad could not stop his tears.
We always played together. We danced together. I remember jumping with him on the songs of “100 days”.
When our parents scolded one of us, we always took each others’ side. It’s a different matter that we were the one’s to have started the argument.
We fought like crazy. Over silly matters like the TV remote. Like who gets the new sunglasses massi had sent (nobody got them. he broke them in half).
And then we grew up. I had to leave home for my job in another city. I remember the day at the airport. We hugged each other for an eternity while we sobbed.
I always knew he loved me. At that moment, the love grew stronger.
And now that I am back home, we fight again.
There is a little boy inside the man who is my brother … Oh, how I hated that little boy. And how I love him too.
Love you my little bro. Stay happy always. Remember, I am always there for you.
Happy Rakshabandhan
