You would never know, What you mean to me.

You would never know,
What you mean to me.
Neither did I,
Until the day it struck me.
Every time you smiled,
Especially when you smiled at me.
My heart fluttered,
You brought happiness to me.
That day when you were hurt,
You had called me.
I felt so helpless,
I knew you needed me.
I put up a brave voice,
When you spoke to me.
But my heart wept,
It betrayed me.
You had hurt your eye,
You were telling me.
The pain of your wound,
Oh how it lashed at me.
That day I saw again,
What you mean to me.
You would never know,
What you mean to me…
Although every poem is written from the heart, and this one in fact has a piece of my heart, now I’ll be trying different things with poetry. In this one, as you can notice, each line ends with the same word “me”. I’ll also be doing poems which have every line beginning with same word, next line beginning with last word of the previous line, a new poem starting with the last line of the previous poem, and other such experiments. Do watch out for them
Update: I didn’t realize, that this was my 100th post!

Okay…just go n tell what it to this person…how much he/she means to you…will ya?
Telling can never be enough. Words can never be enough.
its really from heart…………
This reminds me of something…
wen u wait 4 sumone 4 few mins…its Need.
4 few hours…its Trust.
4 few weeks…its Friendship.
but wen u r not even sure that da person wil not cum or not and You still wait….its Love..!
True Love is.. Being there with You all da Time,no matter what!
n Luks like, Neha is Lucky on that ! (-:

Thanks Vinay, one of my first readers
Simply beautiful. Period.
Thank you.
Isn’t it always this way that we can never always express whata person would mean to me? I mean, we born, grow-up and die but for oneself, he remains the same but for others he might be Sachin Tendulkar/Mukesh Ambani/Amitabh Bachhan. But for Amitabh Bachhan, he has always been amitabh bachhan.
May be my comments is little out-of-context but i like the idea of trying different things, which you talked about in last.
A nice and good poem. Thanks for it!
